Carlos Jaime Barrios Hernández is a computer science professor at the Systems Engineering and Informatics School at Universidad Industrial de Santander in Bucaramanga, Colombia. He is also the director of the High-Performance and Scientific Computing Center (SC3UIS), director and scientific leader of the Large Scale and Advanced Computing Research Group (CAGE)  in the same University and the general chair of the Advanced Computing System for Latin America and Caribe (SCALAC). His research interests inside the advanced computing domain include large-scale architectures, high-performance and scientific computing, sustainable advanced computing, and new trends in computing, such as quantum computing.
