
David E. Singh (Posters and Demos Co-chair)
David E. Singh is Associate Professor of Computer Science at the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid which he joined in 2004. He obtained a B.Sc. in Physics (specializing in Electronics and Computing) in 1997 followed by an M.S. in High Performance Computing and Artificial Intelligence in 1999 and a Ph.D. in Physics in 2003. He is a member of the IEEE and ACM associations as well as the HiPEAC, SARTECO, CABAHLA, and CAPAP-H research networks. His research interests include computational epidemiology, high-performance I/O and application malleability, monitoring, modelling and multi-criteria scheduling. He has authored more than 80 papers published in scientific journals as well as international conferences. He is currently involved in several research projects including the coordination of the project Multi-source and multi-method prediction to support COVID-19 policy decision making, which is funded REACT-EU funds. He is also participating in the EU-funded projects European Regimen Acceleration for Tuberculosis (ERA4TB), Exascale Programming Models for Extreme Data Processing (ASPIDE) and Adaptive Multi-tier Intelligent Data Manager for Exascale (ADMIRE). He participates in the ECDC’s European forecast COVID-19 Hub and European scenario COVID-19 Hub by providing short-term and long-term forecasts for COVID-19 incidence in Spain.
